AEROJET
Natural ventilation and SHEV united
The AEROJET is a versatile louvre ventilator that serves as both a natural smoke and heat extraction system (SHEV) and an efficient ventilation unit. It combines the benefits of smoke and heat extraction with natural air exchange and daylight illumination in buildings.
Using the thermal buoyancy generated by pressure and temperature differences within the building, the AEROJET ensures effective natural ventilation or reliable smoke extraction in case of fire. For everyday use, an integrated rain sensor system provides dependable and weather-independent ventilation. In case of fire, the AEROJET opens automatically, triggered by a thermal release device (TRD), a central manual release, or the fire alarm system.
With its exceptional stability, lightweight construction, and wide range of applications, the new roda louvre ventilator AEROJET is specifically designed to captivate both architects and builders.
Fire protection – for your safety
Whether in industrial halls or office buildings – nowadays, materials are increasingly being used that release toxic gases in case of fire.
The AEROJET louvre ventilator has an automatic thermal trigger mechanism that reliably opens the device in case of fire when the specified trigger temperature is reached – regardless of other functions. In addition, the roda AEROJET can be controlled by a smoke detector pulse or via the fire alarm panel.
Natural ventilation without energy loss
In the summer months, production disruptions often occur in many industrial production halls due to excessive heat and poor air quality. The AEROJET louvre ventilator provides cost-effective and noise-free ventilation that does not require any additional energy expenditure. The ventilation effect becomes more and more effective as the internal heat load increases. The AEROJET adapts automatically due to the natural temperature difference and does not require any additional control to regulate ventilation.
Natural daylight illumination
Thanks to the transparent slats of the AEROJET louvre ventilator, natural daylight can enter the building even when the louvres are closed. This not only reduces lighting costs but also enhances employee well-being and motivation.
AEROJET as a supply air ventilator
The roda AEROJET offers versatile options for roof installation and can also be easily integrated into various wall constructions to ensure the necessary supply of fresh air. Since adequate ventilation cannot be guaranteed without fresh air, the use of supply air systems is essential. In both regular ventilation operation and fire scenarios, supplying fresh air to the lower areas of the building is the most effective approach. During a fire, the AEROJET facilitates the removal of hazardous smoke gases through incoming supply air while promoting the formation of a low-smoke layer near the ground. Additionally, the supply air helps cool materials located close to the fire source.
The AEROJET louvre ventilator is ideal for use in industrial, commercial, and public buildings.

Technical details of the product
AEROJET
Designs
The AEROJET consists of a stable frame construction made of extruded aluminium profiles of the alloy EN AW-6060 (AlMgSi0,5) and is equipped with a number of swivelling, aerodynamically designed slats, which vary depending on the size. For the slats infill you can choose between aluminium-sandwich and PC 16 or 25. The opening and closing of the slats is carried out by an internal pneumatic cylinder or servo motor. The swivel points of the slats are made of aluminium and mounted in UV-resistant sliding bushings. To minimise the outflow of warm air, EPDM seals with two sealing levels are used.
Slat designs
Depending on the area of application, the following slat variants are available for the AEROJET louvre ventilator:
Polycarbonate slat PC16
Polycarbonate slat PC25
Sandwich - Aluminium slat

- Automatically via a thermal priority valve (TPV) and connected CO2 cartridge
- Automatically via central fire alarm system triggered by fire detector
- Manually via central fire alarm system triggered by SHEV button
Electrically operated opening mechanism in case of fire
- Automatically via fire alarm control panel with backup batteries
- Automatically triggered by fire alarm via fire detector
- Manually via fire alarm control unit triggered by SHEV button
Opening mechanism for daily use
Via on-site compressed air net and ventilation control box (for pneumatics) or SHEV control centre (for 24V actuators):
- Ventilation control box
- Push-button
- Timer for night cooling (optional)
- Wind and rain sensor for protection against bad weather (optional)
1 - Louvre ventilator AEROJET
2 - Weather-protected ventilation can be achieved using a rain sensor. The louvres automatically close upon the detection of moisture.
3 - Rain sensor system consisting of a rain sensor and evaluation unit.
4 - Pneumatic control cabinet for open-close control of universal louvres, with connection options for rain sensor automation and emergency fire control unit.
Size
The devices can be manufactured in a wide range of length dimensions as well as in a fixed width from 1080 mm (L) x 600 mm (W) to 4080 mm (L) x 2000 mm (W) with 4 to 16 slats. The width of the device is made up of the frame width of 40 mm and the width of each individual slat of 133 mm. The length is determined by the height of the individual slats (250 x number of slats + 80 mm).
(Device width = number of slats x 133 mm + 40 mm)
Depending on the location and specific requirements, the right model can be selected from different versions:
- Plinth connections (EUROZARGE/ EUROSOCKEL)
- Various flange designs
Installation
Thanks to its low weight and dimensions and flange designs adapted to the respective requirements, the AEROJET can be easily installed in all common roof and wall constructions.
